Message O2 diagnostic mode. Christ. I have no experience with the techtom, but I know this, the ECU sees the O2 voltage down to the 0.01V and it monitors it with a relatively high sampling rate, and it is MUCH higher than 5 times in 10 seconds.

ASE certification may not mean anything to you, but it is one of the benchmarks when qualifying a mechanic. I dont have any ASE certification. My buddy who does has grassroots knowledge of automotive skills and the certification is just a note that says he knows what he is doing. On that same note, I know individuals with doctoral degrees in this, that and the other who couldn't properly mix the right amount of sugar in their breakfast cereal. Just because you have a piece of paper doesn't mean shit. I'm not ASE certified and I could run circles around 99% of the technicians in the world - ASE certified or not.

The service manual says that the O2's SHOULD cycle at LEAST 5 time in 10 seconds. This does NOT mean the ECU only reads them 5 times in 10 seconds. This is purely a diagnostic procedure to find out if your O2's are bad or not.

If Jim Wolf told you that the ECU reads the O2's at a slow rate, then either you confused him with your question, you heard the answer incorrectly or Jim Wolf is an idiot. BTW, if you want to talk to someone who knows the ECU, talk to Clark, not Jim.
